What is the Keyword Cluster Generator?

The Keyword Cluster Generator turns a line list, CSV, or TSV file into a reviewable content map. It consolidates exact duplicate phrases, keeps the highest supplied volume row, preserves original wording and optional metrics, infers intent only when intent was not imported, chooses a representative primary keyword, and separates terms that do not meet the selected cluster threshold.

Clustering runs entirely in the browser with a deterministic comparison of normalized terms, token overlap, adjacent phrases, phrase containment, intent, and optional synonym groups. It does not fetch Google results or competitor pages, estimate search volume, verify ranking difficulty, measure traffic potential, or prove that every cluster should be targeted by one page.

How to build a keyword cluster plan

  1. Paste one keyword per line, or import CSV or TSV text with a keyword, query, or search term column. Optional recognized columns include volume, search volume, difficulty, KD, CPC, and intent.
  2. Choose broad discovery, balanced, or tight similarity. Set the minimum cluster size and add comma-separated synonym groups only for terms that are genuinely interchangeable in this project.
  3. Review the overview before using the map. Duplicate rows, ungrouped terms, imported-metric availability, model scope, and materially mixed-intent clusters are reported explicitly.
  4. Open Clusters to compare the primary keyword, suggested page type and path, semantic confidence, preserved metrics, member keywords, and intent mix. Use search and intent filters for larger plans.
  5. Confirm the final plan, then copy or download the exact visible CSV, JSON, Markdown, or text export. Continue one confirmed cluster to AEO Question Generator only when question research is the useful next step.

Benefits of this keyword clustering workflow

  • Use a simple one-keyword-per-line list or preserve optional volume, difficulty, CPC, and intent values from CSV or TSV input without fabricated metrics.
  • Compare broad, balanced, and tight grouping with a visible threshold instead of relying on an unexplained score or claiming live search-result similarity.
  • Consolidate normalized exact duplicates while retaining the highest supplied volume row and keeping original keyword spelling in every preview and export.
  • Review primary keywords, likely page types, suggested paths, semantic confidence, mixed intent, cluster-level metrics, ungrouped research backlog, and the exact member list.
  • Filter clusters by text or dominant intent and export a flat CSV map, structured JSON, editorial Markdown plan, or readable text report from the same live state.
  • Carry a confirmed primary keyword and all cluster members into AEO Question Generator without duplicating copy buttons on every keyword row.

Keyword Cluster Generator FAQ

Does this tool use live Google search results?

No. It is a browser-side semantic grouping model. SERP-overlap clustering requires current search-result data and can reach different conclusions, so important clusters should be checked against live results and actual user needs.

Does the tool generate search volume, keyword difficulty, or CPC?

No. Those values appear only when they are supplied in recognized CSV or TSV columns. Missing metrics remain blank in the UI and exports.

Should every cluster become one page?

No. A cluster is a planning suggestion. Review intent, existing pages, business purpose, content depth, and live results before merging topics or creating a new page.

How are keywords compared?

The deterministic model combines normalized token overlap, adjacent phrase overlap, phrase containment, matching intent, a shared leading topic term, and optional single-term synonym mappings. The selected strength controls the assignment threshold.

How is search intent assigned?

An imported intent value is preserved when it matches a recognized or custom label. Otherwise a conservative modifier heuristic suggests informational, commercial, transactional, navigational, local, or general intent. Mixed clusters are marked for human review.

What happens to duplicate keywords?

Case, punctuation, and spacing variants that normalize to the same phrase are consolidated. When duplicate rows contain volume, the row with the highest supplied volume is retained.

Can synonym groups force unrelated keywords together?

They can influence token matching, so only add terms that are genuinely interchangeable for the site and audience. Original keyword text is never rewritten in the output.

Is my keyword list uploaded?

The Pro workstation parses, groups, previews, copies, and downloads the list in the browser. The optional same-tab AEO handoff uses short-lived session storage for one confirmed cluster.
