Accurate PDF conversion with an honest fidelity or editability choice
Exact pages mode renders each selected PDF page as one high-resolution Word page image. Its preview reflects the final Word page size, margins, fit, and placement, making it the safest choice when appearance matters more than editing individual elements.
Editable document mode rebuilds valid Unicode and right-to-left text, headings, paragraphs, lists, run-level formatting, hyperlinks, detected tables, embedded images, and supported OCR as Word content. Unsafe text or complex vector regions are preserved from the original page while reliable surrounding content stays editable.
How to convert PDF to Word
- Choose or drop one PDF up to 32 MB and enter its password if required.
- Choose Exact pages for maximum appearance fidelity or Editable document for reusable Word content.
- Select pages, Word page size, reading order, table detection, OCR language, scanned-page output, and the content types to recover.
- Move through the preview. Exact mode shows final Word page placement; Editable mode maps text, OCR, tables, images, hyperlinks, graphics, and visual fallbacks.
- Create the verified DOCX and download the Word document, conversion report, or combined ZIP.
Editable multilingual Word content with controlled fidelity
- Create real Word table objects with detected rows, columns, cell text, proportions, borders, repeated header rows, and sampled header styling.
- Recover valid Unicode text, right-to-left direction, headings, paragraphs, bullets, numbering, bold, italic, font size, colour, and hyperlinks as editable Word content.
- Choose Smart editable OCR, preferred editable OCR, or an exact scan image for scanned and image-only PDF pages.
- Keep embedded images separate while preserving complex vector graphics and genuinely unsafe text as focused fidelity regions.
- Record the same page analysis signatures, OCR decisions, links, object counts, and fallback reasons used by the preview and final Word document in a downloadable JSON report.
PDF to Word FAQ
Are tables editable in Word?
Yes in Editable document mode. Detected rows, columns, cell text, proportions, borders, and header styling become a native Word table.
Which mode has the highest visual accuracy?
Exact pages mode. Each selected PDF page becomes one high-resolution Word page image, so its individual elements are not editable.
Why is some text or a graphic preserved as an image?
Some PDFs use custom fonts, corrupt character maps, complex clipping, or vector effects that Word cannot reproduce reliably. Focused regions are preserved from the source while safe surrounding text and tables remain editable.
Can multi-column PDFs be converted?
Yes. Auto reading order groups content by detected columns before creating the Word flow. Exact pages mode remains available when the original geometry is more important than reflow.
Can scanned PDFs be converted?
Yes. OCR analyses supported scans, and complex scanned pages use a full-page visual fallback when rebuilding them would reduce accuracy.
Can multilingual and right-to-left PDF text remain editable?
Yes when the PDF text layer or selected OCR language returns valid Unicode. Tamil, Hindi, Arabic, and other scripts remain editable, and right-to-left paragraphs are marked for Word.
Why can an editable Word document differ from the PDF?
PDF stores fixed page positions while Word uses a flowing document model. Exact pages mode avoids reflow; Editable document mode prioritizes reusable content and preserves unsafe regions visually.
Are files or passwords retained?
No. Passwords are used only for current requests and are never stored. PDF sessions and generated downloads are temporary and expire automatically.
