What does the Excel to PDF converter do?
This converter turns selected worksheets from XLSX, XLSM, XLTX, or XLTM files into one PDF. It reads workbook print areas and print titles, then lets you choose paper, orientation, scaling, margins, gridlines, headers, and page numbers before export.
When LibreOffice is available, the tool uses its Calc PDF engine for maximum compatibility with formulas, charts, drawings, and workbook formatting. A built-in styled-cell renderer keeps core conversion available on minimal Python hosting. Every on-screen page is rendered from the same cached PDF used for download.
How to convert Excel sheets to PDF
- Choose or drop one modern Excel workbook up to 25 MB.
- Review its worksheets and select only the sheets that belong in the PDF.
- Choose paper size, orientation, scaling, margins, print areas, repeated titles, gridlines, and header or footer options.
- Use the page controls to inspect the exact generated PDF. Settings changes automatically rebuild the preview.
- Select Create PDF and download the verified file shown in the preview.
Print-ready control without opening Excel
- Use saved workbook print areas or ignore them and export each used worksheet range.
- Repeat saved header rows or columns on later pages when a workbook defines print titles.
- Fit wide tables to one page width, fit a complete sheet to one page, or keep actual size pagination.
- Select visible or intentionally hidden worksheets without changing the original uploaded file.
- Reuse the exact preview PDF for final download, preventing preview and output differences.
Excel to PDF FAQ
Which Excel formats are supported?
The converter accepts modern Open XML workbooks and templates: XLSX, XLSM, XLTX, and XLTM. Legacy XLS files should first be saved as XLSX.
Are formulas recalculated?
LibreOffice recalculates formula results when that engine is available. The built-in renderer uses cached workbook results and falls back to formula text when no cached value exists.
Are macros executed?
No. Macros are never executed. XLSM and XLTM files are opened only to read and print workbook content.
Does the PDF preserve charts and images?
The high-fidelity engine preserves supported charts, drawings, images, and cell formatting. The built-in renderer preserves styled cells, merged cells, links, and worksheet images, but reports a warning when charts cannot be drawn.
What does exact preview mean?
The server creates and caches the selected PDF settings first, renders the requested page from that PDF, and copies that same PDF to the final download. The preview is not a separate browser approximation.
What happens to uploaded files?
Workbooks and render caches are temporary and automatically cleaned up. Generated downloads also expire automatically.
