What is the QR Code Generator?
The QR Code Generator creates a standards-based QR image that scanners and phone cameras can decode. It replaces the old decorative QR-style placeholder with a real encoded QR matrix.
Choose a website or text QR, Wi-Fi login, email, phone call, SMS, WhatsApp link, or vCard contact. The tool builds the correct payload, shows its UTF-8 byte count, and generates the QR on the server using the same settings for preview and final download.
Scan reliability is protected with a minimum four-module quiet zone, foreground and background contrast checks, square finder patterns, selectable error correction, and automatic high correction when a center logo is used.
How to create a QR code image
- Choose Website or Text, Wi-Fi, Email, Phone, SMS, WhatsApp, or Contact Card.
- Enter the required details and review the exact encoded payload and UTF-8 byte count.
- Choose a 256, 512, 1024, or 2048 pixel PNG size and select the required error-correction level.
- Keep square modules for maximum reliability or choose rounded or dot modules for a styled QR code.
- Choose a dark foreground, light background, and a quiet zone of at least four modules. Add an optional center logo when needed.
- Inspect the live server-generated preview. Use Test Scan in Browser when the browser supports BarcodeDetector.
- Click Create QR Image and download the final PNG or carry it directly into Image to PDF.
QR Code Generator benefits
- Generate a real standards-based QR matrix instead of a visual placeholder that cannot be scanned.
- Use dedicated payload builders for websites, Wi-Fi networks, email, phone, SMS, WhatsApp, and vCard contacts.
- Preview and final download use the same server-side QR renderer and settings.
- Reject foreground and background combinations that are too low-contrast or inverted for reliable scanning.
- Keep finder patterns square even when rounded or dot data-module styles are selected.
- Use low, medium, quartile, or high error correction. Logo mode automatically uses high correction.
- Download an exact-size optimized PNG without a compression-quality control.
- Carry the generated QR PNG directly into Image to PDF when a printable document is required.
QR Code Generator FAQ
Does this tool create a real scannable QR code?
Yes. The tool creates a standards-based encoded QR matrix. The previous decorative QR-style placeholder is no longer used by this route.
Which QR content types are supported?
You can create QR codes for a URL or text, Wi-Fi network, email, phone call, SMS message, WhatsApp conversation, or vCard contact.
Why must the foreground be darker than the background?
Most QR scanners detect dark modules on a light background more reliably. The tool blocks inverted or very low-contrast color combinations.
What is a quiet zone?
The quiet zone is the clear area around the QR matrix. The tool enforces a minimum of four modules so scanners can separate the QR code from surrounding content.
Can I add a logo to the QR code?
Yes. Add a JPG, PNG, WebP, or BMP logo up to 5 MB. The logo is limited to a safe center size and high error correction is applied automatically.
Which module style is safest?
Square modules are the safest for screens and printing. Rounded and dot styles are available, but square finder patterns are preserved and the tool displays a scan warning for styled modules.
What image sizes are available?
You can create 256, 512, 1024, or 2048 pixel square PNG images. The QR modules remain aligned to whole pixels inside the selected canvas size.
Does the preview match the final PNG?
Yes. Preview and final download are generated by the same QR rendering function using the same payload, colors, module style, quiet zone, correction level, size, and logo.
Can the tool test whether the QR code scans?
When the browser supports BarcodeDetector, Test Scan in Browser decodes the preview and compares it with the intended payload. Otherwise, test with a phone camera before publishing or printing.
